What is Wire-o binding?
Wire-O Binding
Wire-O binding is one of the most popular binding methods. When you choose wire-o binding, a sturdy steel wire comb from Bekaert is threaded through your booklet. This binding method is both durable and strong. You can opt for a silver or black wire closure for a sleek finish.
Advantages of Wire-O Binding
Multiple Sizes Available
Wire-O binding can be used for any document size. You can bind very small documents (starting at 60x80mm) as well as very large ones (up to 297x440mm).
Accommodates Many Pages
Wire-O binding can also handle very thick books, with up to 472 pages, and there is no minimum page requirement. Even if you have only 4 pages, wire-o binding is still a great option!
Book Lays Completely Flat
Unlike perfect binding, a wire-o bound book can lay completely flat when opened, which is especially convenient for workbooks and manuals.
Various Cover Options
With wire-o bound books, you have many cover options. You can choose a standard transparent cover for the front and a black cardboard back cover. Alternatively, you can design and print your own custom front and back cover on 350-gram card stock, offering both strong protection and a professional appearance. For extra protection, an additional transparent cover can be added to both the front and back.
Additional Finishing Options for Wire-O Binding
Glossy Coating
You can opt to add a glossy coating to your printed front and back covers. This coating protects the book from splashes and helps it last longer, while enhancing the overall appearance.
Rounded Corners
For a playful touch, you can choose rounded corners, giving the book a soft, more approachable look.
Borderless Printing
If you have colors, images, or photos that extend to the edge of your document, choose borderless printing. This ensures there are no white borders, giving your document a neat, trimmed look.
