Is black/white printing better for the environment?
Sustainable printing is becoming increasingly important. One of the most common questions that arises from this: is black and white printing better for the environment?
The short answer to this question is yes. When printing in black and white (or grayscale) we use less ink, making it less harmful to the environment. When printing in full color, more ink has to be used to create the different colors.
But if you really want a more sustainable print job, we have even more tips:
Tips for more sustainable printing
As already mentioned, print your order in black and white when possible. An additional benefit: black and white printing is also cheaper!
Print everything double-sided. This way there is twice as much information on 1 sheet of paper and you use a lot less paper.
Take a look at our more sustainable type of paper: Paperwise. This is made from agricultural waste and therefore better for the environment!
Only print the pages you really need. Your document might contain some pages you don't really need printed, which makes it a waste of paper (and your money) to print all the pages.
Does your document only have a few pages that you really need to print in color? Our order form gives you the option to print only these pages in color. That way you still save a lot of ink on the other pages!
