What is the most common size for a poster?

Do you want to print a poster, but are you still unsure of the size? On this page you can find all the information that you need for choosing the right size poster.

The most common sizes

The sizes that are used most often for posters are A3, A2, A1 and A0 from the A-series, B0 and B1 from the B-series and Abri. All of these size have their own pros and cons. Which size is best for your poster depends on multiple aspects. Such as, the distance from where the poster has to be seen, what the surroundings of the poster are and the amount of information that has to fit on the poster.

From which distance will people look at your poster?

If people will see your poster from close by, like a dressing room or a restaurant, the poster does not have to be very big to draw the attention. A3 will be good enough of a size. But will you place the posters outside in a very crowded environment? Than A0, A1 of a size from the B-series will be better to stand out.

Some places where you can hang your poster have a standard size. For example, posters that will be hung at a bus stop must be an Abri size. Besides, in a very busy and crowded environment, a small poster is very likely to not stand out or almost disappear, making a larger poster more suitable to attract the attention.

How many information will you place on the poster?

This is quite simple: if you have a lot of information that has to be put on your poster, don't choose a small piece of paper. The smaller: the less easy it is to read al the information. However, we recommend to keep text on posters short and sweet.
