Tips for black and white printing
Black and white printing is a cheap way of printing. And therefore perfect for simple reference work or school work. It is also very suitable for books with only text. But what should you pay attention to?
Make sure black is really black
It is often thought that converting colors to black and white is enough to get real black. But when converting to black and white, colors become (dark) gray rather than true black. Do you want to make sure that a color is really black? Then also add Cyan, Magenta and Yellow to your color. We follow the CMYK color perspective. The K in CMYK stands for Key: Black. By setting Key to 100%, you get a kind of anthracite black. For the perfect black, set Cyan to 50%, Magenta to 40%, Yellow to 40%, and Key to 100%. Now you get that deep black color!
Just make sure that your opacity does not exceed 280%, otherwise there is a good chance that the ink will smear or bleed.
Black or grayscale
If you choose black and white in our system, your document will be converted to this. We convert colors into gray values. Do you want to be sure that it will be the right black and white colors? Then convert your document to black and white yourself. This way you can still play with the white values and gray values yourself.
