Continuous yarn-free cover

If you choose to have the spine of your book printed as well, you need to submit your cover as a spread. This means that the front cover, spine, and back cover should all be on one page. The front cover should be on the right side of the page, the back cover on the left, and the spine naturally in the middle.

If you also want the inside of the cover to be printed, the opposite applies: on this page, the inside of the front cover should be on the left and the inside of the back cover on the right. The inside of the spine can remain blank.

What should the size of my spread be?

Calculate it yourself

The spread should be twice the width of a single page, plus the width of the spine. You can find how thick your book will be in the order form under extra info "how thick will my book be".

Exact calculation by us

It's not necessary to calculate it yourself. The exact width for the spine is provided in the submission guidelines when you upload your file under the "size" section. Make sure you fill in all the desired specifications in the order form for an accurate calculation.

Templates

Creating a cover can sometimes be challenging, especially if you have limited time to get the size just right. That's why we've created templates for covers in A4 and A5 formats, available with spine widths from 5 to 15 mm. These templates are available for download in Word, Pages, and InDesign formats. You can find the templates here.
