What is a file format?

The file format, also known as the file type, is the way a file is stored on a computer. The file format, therefore, indicates what type of file a document is. Well-known examples are a word document, jpg and PDF. We print your document as a PDF file, but you can deliver it in almost all file formats.

How do I know which file format my document has?

The file format is indicated at the end of the document name, with a so-called extension. For example, with a word document, you will find .doc behind the document name. With a photo in jpg format, you will find .jpg behind the document name.

What is the difference between file format and file size?

File size refers to the amount of space a file takes up. This is expressed in bytes. You can easily upload files up to 500 MB in the order form. Uploading a large-size document may take some time, depending on the internet speed. If your file turns out to be too large to upload, you can send it via a download link, WeTransfer or Dropbox.
