Wat is een Kiss-cut?

There are several cutting options when producing stickers. You can opt for a sticker sheet, where the stickers are cut loosely on the paper, or for fully contour-cut stickers that are cut completely separately from each other.

The difference between kiss-cut and die-cut

As described above, there are two ways to cut out stickers.

  • The stickers are cut out but the backing, the sheet on which the stickers are printed, remains intact. The stickers are therefore supplied as a sticker sheet. This is called a kiss cut: only the sticker is cut, not the backing.

  • The second method involves fully cut stickers that are no longer connected to each other. Both the sticker and the backing are cut. This is known as a die cut.

Kiss-cut stickers

Only the stickers have been cut loose on the sheet. The backing is still intact.

Die-cut sticker

Both the sticker and the backing are cut in the round shape.
