Our tips & tricks !

You want your document printed in the best possible way, and we completely understand that! To help you with this, we explain a number of tips and tricks that you should pay attention to when preparing your document. Have you thought of everything?

Margins of your document

One of the most important parts for a nicely printed file is the margin. By this we mean the space between the text or other important information and the edge of the paper. For standard printing we use a margin of 5 mm. This applies to both borderless and non-borderless printed documents. This way you guarantee that your information, images or patterns are neatly included in the printed document. This margin obviously does not apply to a background.

Tere are a few exeptions to the margin of 5 mm:

  • Stickers: 1 mm

  • Business cards: 3 mm

  • Bounded books: inside 15 mm

File type

Our system can process almost all file types. Before printing, documents are automatically converted to PDF by our system.

Do you have special fonts, important images or many different layers in your document? Then we recommend that you always submit your document as a PDF. By submitting a PDF, you can be assured that nothing in your document shifts during the uploading processing or printing process and that all fonts are retained.

Color profile

Do you have a document full of colors, images and photos? Then it is important that you save this in the CMYK color profile. CMYK stands for Cyan, Magenta, Yellow and Key (black). These are the colors that printers use. Computer screens, on the other hand, use a different color profile: RGB (red, green, blue). As a result, there is always a chance that colors differ from each other when printing. By saving your document as CMYK, the correct colors are retained and you avoid unpleasant surprises! When saving as CMYK, there are different profiles to choose from. We prefer Fogra39L for the best possible conversion.

Extra tip :
Have you not yet drawn up your document? Then choose a CMYK profile before you start!
