What are crop marks?
Crop marks are small black lines that can be placed at the corners of a document to indicate where to cut the paper. You can add these in programs such as InDesign, Illustrator and Photoshop.
Are crop marks necessary?
It is not necessary to add crop marks and bleed, without these we can still produce your documents without white borders. In that case, we enlarge the document a little bit to create extra space for the cutting of the prints.
Crop marks and margins
To ensure that all information remains clearly visible on the prints after cutting, a safety margin of 5 mm must be taken into account. This also applies when crop marks have been added.
